Men invited to dude-ranch-style retreat - Men: Save February 24-26 for an unforgettable weekend at the 2012 Men's Retreat at Calicinto Ranch. Located just a half hour north of Temecula in the San Jacinto foothills, the dude ranch setting includes open pit barbecue, ranch-hand breakfasts and the warmhearted hospitality of the amazing Pirelli family. The natural foothills destination includes great opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, horseshoes, basketball and more. The speakers include Pastor Bob Buschman and our Men’s Ministries director, Craig Kruse. Sign up Sundays in the lobby, or register online here.

Women to spend a Saturday morning with Arlene Pellicane - Wives are invited to a “Coffee and Chat” on Saturday, February 18. Author Arlene Pellicane will be the featured speaker, sharing ideas on how to strengthen and enliven your marriage, including insights and tips from her new book, “31 Days to a Happy Husband.” The cost is $5 at the door and meets from 9-noon in the Chapel. Sponsored by Women’s Ministries. Contact: Edie Chapman, ednamary@cox.net.

Two Epic events invite students grades 6-12
* SuperBowl Party & Chili Cook-off – Next Sunday, February 5, students are invited to Pastor Tony’s house to watch the Super Bowl and participate in a Chili Cookoff. Students are invited to bring their best chili for a competition (optional). The cost is $3 for Epic students and free to their friends. There will be TVs all around the house, and a movie room for those who don’t like football! Come hang out and have a great time. Meet from 3 pm until the end of the Super Bowl. Contact: Pastor Tony, tyoung@sdfa.org
* Weekend Winter Camp - Save the weekend of March 2-4 for Youth Winter Camp at Pinecrest (near Lake Arrowhead). Students in 6th-12th grade will have an incredible experience in the mountains worshiping the Lord with their peers, hearing exciting and challenging messages by youth pastor, Jared Kirkwood, and enjoying lots of fun in the snow. Sign up at the Information Center in the lobby or online at here. Contact: Pastor Tony, tyoung@sdfa.org.

Make your Valentine happy and help our kids help missions - How often do you get the chance to help our kids help missionaries by buying See’s candy? The children of our Children’s Ministries are currently raising funds for BGMC, Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge, by selling California’s favorite candy, See’s chocolates. They’re offering 1-pound boxes (nuts and chews or assorted, $16) , 4-ounce boxes ($6), milk chocolate candy bars ($2) and assorted lollypops ($1 each). Make your Valentine, a loved one, or your own sweet self happy! Stop by in the lobby today.

Blankets help homeless in winter weather - As nights get colder, you can help men and women living on the streets of San Diego by giving the gift of warmth. Our City Serve (Joshua Mission) ministry welcomes the donation of throws or twin-sized blankets, new or gently used, to give to homeless San Diegans. Members from Student Ministries (Sarah Doyle) and the Saints Alive seniors class (Vilma Golfinos) are collecting. Please drop off blankets Sundays at the church kitchen, the Student Center or the Saints Alive class and mark them “City Serve.” During the week, please deliver items to the church office. Thank you!

Fan the Flame Mentoring groups - A new five-week evening mentoring group, Fan the Flame, is designed for the woman who wants to grow in the understanding and use of her spiritual gifts. Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit’s leading and hesitated due to doubt, confusion, or fear? These and other hindrances to moving in obedience will be explored through scripture, personal ministry and prayer. The sessions are led by Sandy Grove, director of Fired Up! ministry, and childcare is provided. Meet Thursdays, January 26–February 23, from 6:30-8 pm in the Fireside Room, EC205. Contact: Sandy, san-jam@cox.net.
